Thanks Linda,
This is one of my brick walls.....Everything is speculation. My 2nd great
grandmother was Elizabeth MacDonald b. 31 Dec 1804 in Allegheny County, PA
She married either James or William Fry b. 1800 to 1810 in Allegheny County, PA.
About 1845 they moved to St. Louis and he was evidently deceased before the 1850
census. They were said to be in the river boat business...who knows, maybe he
drowned but I can find nothing. In 1870, Elizabeth was living with her youngest
daughter, Ellen Hensley (b. 1844 and wife of Alfred) in Jefferson County and I have
her obituary when she died October 27, 1871. I cannot locate a burial location so
I'm assuming she may have been buried with her husband.....my 2nd great
grandfather. Alfred Hensley is buried in Sandy Baptist Cemetery but....can't find
Ellen there. She may have remarried after Alfred's death in 1880 but can find no
marriage record. Possibly her children would be a clue but haven't located them
either: Ida J., Vinta N., Nannie M., Frank A. and Edward L. Hensley. I have no
information on them......yet.
If anyone has anything on these relatives, I'd love to hear from you.
