Lewis A. WILLARD, Kalamazoo, MI, Passed away Saturday evening, November 18, 2000. Lewis was born April 20, 1929 in Climax, MI, the son of Charles and Myrtle (BERGER) WILLARD, and has been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Army and later was a member of the VFW Post #827. For 28 years he was employed with the Eaton Corporation, from which he retired in 1980. Lewis was an avid hunter and fisherman; but his family. On December 9, 1946 he was united in marriage to the former Ethel L. MCMAINS, who survives. Also
surviving are his children, Connie L. MCCORMICK of Otsego, Diane K. BERTHOLD and special friend, Bob JOHNSON, both of Otsego, John D. (Robin) WILLARD, Charles A. WILLARD both of Cooper, grandchildren, Michael MCCORMICK, Lisa McCormick, Greg (Brenda) MCCORMICK, Jacob BERTHOLD, Tanya (Robert) BRUISCHART, Melanie (Merritt) BUSH; step-grandson, David CLOSSON, great-grandchildren, John WILLARD, Tara and Samantha BRUISCHART, Michael and Mathew BUSH, Stacie and Austin MCCORMICK, Kali GRIFFIN; brothers, Duane WILLARD and Lyle (Jeanette) WILLARD. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Memorial Chapel, 522 S. Burdick St., 622 S. Burdick St., 343-1508 with Pastor Brooks McElhenny officiating. Interment will follow in West Cooper Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the chapel on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Program, or VFW Post #827. source: Kalamazoo Gaz!
