Veteran of Old 13th
Wm. D. Dustin Passed Away Last Night.

William Dudley Dustin passed away at 12:40 this morning at his home, 747 Sheldon street, at the age of 59 years, 9 months and 28 days. Death resulted from paralysis of the brain from which the deceased had been suffering for the past three weeks.

Mr. Dustin was born and brought up at Lacota, Mich., at which place he resided until nine years ago when he moved to this city.

The deceased was well and favorably known and was a member of Kalamazoo lodge No. 22 F. and A.M. He was a verteran of the civil war, having served the last six months of the war with the Thirteenth Michigan Infantry.

Besides his wife he leaves two daughters and one son. Mrs. Maud Allgive of Lacota, Mich., Mrs. B. Steinberg of this city and Fred J. Dustin of Milwaukee. He was formerly a member of the Methodist church at Lacota.

The funeral will be held at the home Monday morning at 11:30. The Rev. W.M. Puffer will officiate. Interment will take place in Riverside cemetery.

Note: The same obituary appeard in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 23 Feb. 1902, and was identical except that it reported that "he was born and brought up at Red Creek, New York, at which place he resided until nine years ago when he moved to this city."
