NORG, Mr. Maurice
Kalamazoo

Maurice Norg, born July 21, 1924, passed away on March 30, 2005. The son of Edwin and Tina Norg, Maury is remembered as a fun-loving man who made everyone feel important. He was a faithful, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, whose wit and humor will be greatly missed. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central, attended Maher's Business College, and graduated from LaSalle Business College in Chicago. After serving as a Sergeant in the Air Force from 1943-1946, Maury worked for KVP Sutherland and the UpJohn Company as a traffic analyst for 20 years, retiring in 1987. He was a lifetime member of Hope Reformed Church, where he was actively supportive in many ways, touching the lives of many. Maury married Beverly Whyment on November 27, 1947 and is survived by his wife, Beverly Norg; 2 children, Bradley (Sharon) Norg, Deborah (Larry) Gillam; 6 grandchildren, Kyle, Jeff (Jennie fiancé), Ben and Kalee Norg; Mike and Dawn Gillam; 1 great-granddaughter, McKen!
na Rae Norg; one sister Marianne (Fred) Hellenga; 2 nieces, Karen (Tom) Boender and Sharon Hellenga. Services were held today at 11:00 o'clock at the Hope Reformed Church, 910 Jenks Blvd. with the Rev. Kent Frens officiating. Private interment with military honors was in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Maurice's memory may be made to the Hope Reformed Church or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
