BLOEMSMA, Peter Marvin
Passed away Monday, March 28, 2005 in Bradenton, Florida. Peter was born March 12, 1921 in Holland, Michigan, the son of Egbert and Gertrude (VanDenBosch) Bloemsma. For many years he was a farmer in Imlay City, MI area, then coming to Kalamazoo in 1965, he worked in the bedding plant business as co-owner of B & C Greenhouses. Peter loved woodworking and enjoyed making wood crafts. He was a member of the Prairie Edge Christian Reformed Church. On December 29, 1943 he was united in marriage to the former Henrietta Stryker, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Barbara L. (Mike) Berg of Bradenton, FL, Bonnie L. (Gregory) Bonnema of Spring Lake, MI, Edwin J. Bloemsma of Bradenton, FL, Brenda L. (Louis) Germay of Portage; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Andrew (Nadine) Bloemsma of Florida; 2 sisters, Caroline Hofmeyer and Marian Sidell, both of Imlay City, MI; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Jan!
et Yntema. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the L angeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Prairie Edge Christian Reformed Church (9316 Oakland Drive) with Rev. Philip Kok officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. A lasting memorial in Peter's memory may be directed to the Right to Life of Michigan or to Hospice of SW Florida.
