Passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2005 in Columbus, OH. Lucy was born July 20, 1943 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Richard and Jean (Thacker) Anderson, and had been a resident in the Kalamazoo area for 36 years. She was a graduate of Michigan State University, and worked as a tax accountant for 20 years with Don Lightfoot and Associates. Lucy enjoyed her grandchildren and doing puzzles. On October 29, 1966 she was united in marriage to Donald Lightfoot, who survives. Also surviving are 3 children, Anderson J. Lightfoot, Amanda J. Lightfoot-Hall, Adam J. Lightfoot; 5 grandchildren, Lucy and Margaret Hall, Madison, Anderson Jr., and Jackson Lightfoot; her mother, Jean Anderson; and a sister, Priscilla Staskevich. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service to celebrate Lucy's life will be held Saturday, January 29 at 3:00 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street with Dr. !
Douglas Vernon, of First United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo, officiating. Private interment of cremains will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Portage District Library Youth Services Area Mural Project in memory of Lucy Lightfoot, 300 Library Lane, Portage, MI 49002.
