"There was a man who pleased God and was loved by Him, and while living among sinners was taken from the earth. But the just man, though he died young, will be at eternal rest." (Wisdom 4:10,7). Steven Patrick Kerr, 41, of Kalamazoo, MI, was taken suddenly from this life on January 9, 2005. Steve will be remembered by all for his selfless acts of courage, generosity, and zest for life. Steve was a loving father, son, brother, grandson, and friend. He will live in our hearts forever providing a lasting example of how to treat others. We are grateful for having Steve in our lives. Steve is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Margaret and Fred Blanchard; paternal grandfather, George Kerr; and uncle, Jack Sugars; Steve is survived by his son, Ryan Ruiz-Kerr; parents, Pat and Larry Kerr of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Renee (Robert) Luke, Susan (Matthew) Shannon; grandmother, Amelia Kerr; nieces and nephews, Logan, Sierra and Caleb Shannon, Justin, and Chelsea Luke; Ryan's !
mother, Melba Ruiz; special friend, Glenda Korn; as well as Aunt Jean, Uncle Al and Aunt Barbara; and many other relatives and friends. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Dunn-Quigley Ciriello & Carr Fairlawn Chapel (39 S. Miller Rd., Fairlawn, OH 44333). Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Hilary Catholic Church, interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ryan Kerr's education fund. Checks may be made payable to the Ohio Tuition Trust Authority for the Benefit of Ryan Kerr, and mailed to Wachovia Securities, 1737 Georgetown Rd., Ste H. Hudson, OH 44236. (800-437-9559)
