I am currently searching for my wife's G G Grandfather, Philip Michel. I know he was located in the Madison/Macoupin Counties, Illinois area.

Philip was born abt 1850 in Nassau, Germany. I believe he emmigrated in 1870.

He was married, at least, twice. Had daughters, Mary & Annie by first wife.

Second wife was Mary Mann who died in 1887. Philip and Mary had a daughter in 1882. Her name was Emma Catherine Alvina Michel. She was born in Brighton, ILL.

Philip moved west with his daughter, Emma, in 1908, her husband (Harry Norton) and the children they had at the time. Philip died of pneumonia in 1913. Emma died from breast cancer in 1921. She left behind 8 children with the youngest being only 8 months old.

Any Information would be very welcome.

Charlie
