My ggrandfather was Peter Mitchell(Michels) b 1859. He changed his name prior to the 1890 census. His parents were Joseph and Magdalina Michels. He immigrated to USA in 1868 from Hohenfels with his father, Joseph, and siblings. Catharina 1 b. 1850, Johann b. 1855, Anna Maria b. 1857, Catharin 2 b. 1861(she used the name Mary and married John Wangerin in Milwaukee, WI). and Catharina 3. born 1863. They immigrated through NY and supposedly were going to Chicago where Joseph had brothers. Peter settled in Raymond, Racine County, Wisconsin.
