Additional Comments:
The first name in this record is spelled Buren but the name is generally
spelled Burren, which was the maiden name of his paternal grandmother. Burren
BROWN was the son of James BROWN and Celia BOURNE. He was born in
Shadoxhurst, Kent Co., England in 1833. He married Mary Ann HOYT (her maiden
name has was been given to me by one of her descendants and I am still looking
for "proof" of her maiden surname). Their children were Mary Eliza BROWN, (she
never married) and James Burren BROWN I. They are all (Burren, Mary Ann, Mary
Eliza and James Burren BROWN I) buried at Hillside Cemetery, Gun Plain Twp.,
Plainwell, Allegan Co., MI.
