I have received a lot of help on searching my family and I really appreciate the very kind people that really work so hard in helping others. But I still am really confused with my family. Now I know why we turned out like we did. This what I know so far. My great grandfather Joseph Jacob Bolda born February 2, 1860 in Chlapau, West Prussia, parents were Joseph Bolda and Marianna Rathenau or Rathenau. Unknown brothers or sisters. He might of came to the US in 1885, still not sure. Married my great grandmother Susanna Sawitzka (name on marriage license) born 1868 (date on tombstone) don't know where she was born, father Albert Sawitzki (name on marriage license) mother unknown, also and brothers or sisters unknown. Joseph & Susanna were married in Detroit, Mich. at St. Albertus Catholic Church November 11, 1888.

I can not find them in the 1900 census, not sure because there were 3 other Joseph Bolda's in the Detroit area by 1910. I did find them in the 1910 census which states there were 11 children born with 9 living. I can only find baptismal records for the 9 and Susanna's last name is spelled Zywicki on those records. What name do I search Sawitzka, or Zywicki? Either way I can not find any information on either name.

Family has it there was both a John and a Joseph, but the only baptismal record I can find is for a Joseph Bolda. There is both a John and Joseph (listed Josephine) in the 1910 census. I was told John died young from falling on a Pickett fence. There is a Teresa I was told died young, but found a wedding picture of Teresa and unknown named husband. Children I do know records are: Joseph Joannem b. 1889, Claram Cecilian b. 1891, Bertha b.1892 (Measel), Teresam b. 1895, Hieronimun (Harry) b.1897 died in prison, Teofiliam (Tillie) b. 1899 (Roby), Rosam b. 1901 (Collier), Twins Helen (Barrett), Agnes (Sengstock, Wojcik) b. 1904.

Susanna was buried August 4, 1918 in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit. Joseph remarried a Rose Schmidt in May of 1921. Rose died in 1930. Joseph died April 13, 1944. Joseph, Susanna, Rose Schmidt Bolda and August Schmidt (Rose's first husband are all buried together in Mt. Olivet Cementy in Detroit.

Can anyone let me know where do I go from here. I have not been able to nothing on my great grandmother at all. I really apreciate any help, this is stressing me out.

Thanks
Pat
