I erred (about midnight May 28th) by citing incorrectly the following:
"New England HistoricAL and Genealogical REGISTER" (caps new) by
New England Historic Genealogical Society. Historic(al) words differ.
~~~~~~
Some say "The Register" but a better abbreviation is "NEHG Register".
(I'd substituted the active word of New York's equivalent publication.)
Two lesser errors are also corrected in this partial quoteback of 6/28:
> NEW CD: "The Chadbourne Family in America: A Genealogy"
- almost certainly the best source of information on the first several
generations of descendants of Thos. SPENCER and Dan'l. GOODWIN
of that part of Kittery now So. Berwick, Maine, as it follows daughters
OF daughters of daughters for several generations ... equal to males.
Reviews may be seen in:
* "The Maine Genealogist" Feb.2001 p.46,7 by Joseph Anderson II.
* "The New England Historical & Genealogical REGISTER" April, 2001
(arrived in Maine 6-23-01) p.227,8 review by Helen Ullmann, CG.
* "Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter" of Sunday, 6-24-01
[review by Richard Eastman, Editor]
^ current issues appear (2 or 3 days after the Sunday e-mails) at:
http://www.ancestry.com/library/view/columns/eastman/eastman.asp.
(Consider free subscription ^ if you don't yet.)
NEW: By clicking on the 4th bullet down, those interested in families
of Kittery/Berwick Maine are directed to the Chadbourne CD review
at http://www.ancestry.com/library/view/columns/eastman/4137.asp.
That's seen in Dick Eastman's new rich text HTML format, now
available to all subscribers except those limited by JUNO or by AOL
as he explained to his subscribers in a separate bulletin this week
(but they can see it in his new format at his website using either the
AOL browser or a full-feature browser after minimizing AOL window).
+ New NOTEs: NEHGS website is www.NewEnglandAncestors.org
They also have a free online newsletter, less broad than Eastman's,
of which HisGen Highlights #44 arrived today 6/29 10:14 Eastern time.
