Jesus (Don Chuy) VIESCA, 77, went to be his Lord and Savior
on Saturday, August 19, 2006. He was born September 14, 1928 in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico. He immigrated with his family to the United States in 1960 and had been a resident of Newcastle, Oklahoma since 1987.
He married Catalina Espinoza at the age of 24 and they had 10 beautiful children. His wife and 2 children preceded him in death by at least 34 years. He then married Alicia Galicia and together they would have celebrated their 34th anniversary on August 22. They had 3 more children, 26 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren who all greatly
love and dearly miss him.
He owned a busy mechanic shop and was very involved in his church activities. One of his dreams was to have a Christian ministry in his small hometown of Zacatecas, Mexico to share the gospel with his family and friends. He worked hard to achieve this, and even in his final days he worked from his bedside at home to make his dream a reality.
This ministry was miraculously inaugurated on the very day he died, and is the first Protestant mission in his hometown. 60 people attended this service and 20 came to accept the Lord as their Savior. Services to celebrate his life will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at Exchange Avenue Baptist Church at 1312 S. Pennsylvania in Oklahoma City under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. We shall always remember his amazing strength, love for life and family, and wonderful sense of humor that he embraced until his last breath. We would like to thank everyone for your prayers and support.
