I have traced the Bugarin family in Atolinga all the way back to the first Bugarin to come to Zacatecas around 1680 from Mexico City (Cosme DE LA VILLA BUGARIN).

Atolinga is a small town that did not have its own parrish until nealry 1800 and before that was part of the parrish of Tlaltenango. You will often find Atolinga families getting married or baptising their children in Tlaltenango.

(Jose) Lorenzo Bugarin was baptised in Atolinga on 17 AUG 1830 and his parents were Francisco Marcelino BUGARIN and Rosalia CORTEZ. This couple was married on 27 FEB 1804 in Atolinga. The IGI does not list their parents but if you get the film it should list them.

That Francisco BUGARIN may be the same person who was born to Pedro Joseph BUGARIN and Maria CARRILLO on 11 Apr 1772. If that is the case, you can trace all the way back to Cosme DE LA VILLA BUGARIN:
