I have visited Suistan which is on an upper mesa above Tlaltenango. I have a cousin from Tlaltenango who owns property there who I believe uses it for cattle grazing. The property was left to them from descendants long gone.

Another cousin gave me a tour of the area years ago and showed me where his many aunts and uncles lived years ago in houses long since abandonded.

Most of my relatives who have or had property in Susitan were Sandovales who married families from Tlaltenango and Tepechiltan. Many of them also dwelled in nearby Yerbabuena another rancho in the vicinity. Many of these families still live there. My research finds these relatives came originally another mesa above Yerbabuena called in those days Rancho de las Ranas, now called Villa Hidalgo.
