The Godoys from Zacatecas are originally "Carlos de Godoy" so some descendants took the Carlos name and some the Godoy name. I believe that this is your ancestor's birth record in Guadalajara from the LDS database (familysearch.org). It makes sense that he would have ended up in Tlaltenango, because some of the oldest Spanish settlers in the area were Miramontes. I have a 1650 Census of Tlaltenango, if you are interested.
