Cammie,
Yes, there is a place called Tlatenango de Sanchez Roman, Zacatecas. If you go to mapquest.com click on maps, enter mexico, then tlatenango you can see the location of this city. Go to www.familysearch.org, click on search, go to the IGI and put in the names you are looking for. Designate region as Mexico, Zacatecas, All on cities. Tip: remember that most people have the first name of Jose, or Maria. So you should try Jose Mijares or Minjares, *also remember names are written many different ways. Your name could also be written Mixares or Minxares. When you hit search you will get a list of all the names that meet your query. Sometimes you might have to look at all of them by that I mean click on the name and it will give you additional info. You could also narrow your search by putting in a date but also use the + or - 20 years. *Tip don't narrow your search to much* This info.is printable, this might make it easier on you to remember what you looked at. This si!
te is very helpful you just have to try different combinations. DO NOT GIVE UP. I beleive they have a tutorial on how to search on this site. Also, under search on the side bar, Vital Records, and All Resources are very helpful. Tip: Example: if you find a Mijares that might be a possible connection and you click on the name as you scroll down you might find a Batch Number: *example C607124 click on the number this will take you to another screen, at this point just put in the last name mijares click search. Sometimes if you do not get anything go back to the batch number and change the last digit try going forward or backwards with the numbers ie: 5 or 3. Remember to try different spelling of the name. If there is a Church of Later Day Saints (Mormons) in your area find one that has a Family History Center and go visit. They can explaine how you can do research by ordering films, and the web site that they have available. It is free of charge and you do not need!
to be a member of the church to use the facilities. Good luck and I
hope this information helps.
