O can mean just about any surname or any middle name. In Mexico a woman does not lose her maiden name. She takes on her husband's name.

Say that you're maiden name is Ortiz you are Deena Ortiz. You marry and you become Deena Ortiz de Sanchez if you married mister Sanchez. Some families go further than that and carry both their maternal and paternal last names using the first initial of that last name. Say that your maternal surname was Perez. You are Deena Ortiz Perez de Sanchez
