My father died in 1983. I am re-reading his memoirs. He was born in Vetagrande, Zacatecas in 1892. He mentions that, as a boy of 11 in 1903, he was working in the mines around the village (or the mine) called San Miguel del Mesquital, Zacatecas. The manager of the mine was named Carlos Moser. My father suffered a fall down a shaft and was taken for treatment to a town called Jimenez. I found Jimenez del Teul on a map, but I am not sure if this is the same town. My father then mentions that by 1904, his family had moved to Concepcion del Oro where my grandfather was hired as a watchman in a mine called "Las Animas". I am hoping someone may know of these places or may have had relatives who worked in these mines. I would like to confirm his memoirs and learn about the history and conditions of these places. Or maybe there is a website you might suggest where I could do some research on old mining towns and on the actual mines. Thank you.
