Hi! Sorry for responding late. Yes, the Lozoyas were catholic. In fact, María de los Angeles Lozoya's grandson, José Salomé Badillo Ruiz, was going to become a priest but resigned. She was from Mesillas, Zacatecas. Maybe there is a baptismal record of her, circa 1830's. I'll search for it and tell you the result.
