Looking for any information on Silvestre Marques & Maria Salome Lira. I
recently obtained a copy of the death certificate of my great-grandfather
Juan Marquez, born in Sain Alto, Zacatecas about 1863 and who died 26JAN1941
in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The certificate shows his parents as Silvestre
Marques & Maria Salome Lira both born in Zacatecas. I have checked the
on-line LDS files but did not find anything. Silvestre & Maria Salome had
at least one other son named Policarpo(Policarpio) Marques.

My great-grandfather Juan and his wife Maria Magallanes, also from Sain
Alto, came to the U.S. in 1908 (we think to a small town in southern Arizona)
According to the 1910 Dona Ana County Census, Juan, Maria and three of
their children were living in Mesilla in April 1910. I am told by my father,
that Juan and Maria lived in Los Brasitos (right outside of Las Cruces)until
the time of Juan's death

I would appreciate hearing from anyone who might have additional information.
