Surname: Vasquez, Recio

I am looking for information on my great-grandfather, Refugio Vasquez.
He married my great-grandmother, Leonarda Recio probably 1890's and had
my grandmother, Ester on March 7, 1896. She was born in Brownsville, TX.
Other children would have been Enriqueta, Virginia, Manuel and possibly
Timoteo.
It was said he or his father was born in Spain. But it seems that a lot
of people say that and it's not correct. I really have no idea how he came
to Brownsville, TX.
