Surname: Duarte, Cuevas, Luera, Lorea, Sanchez, De la Vega, Tobar, Tovar,
Moreno, Vasques, Garcia de la Cadena, Salas

I'm looking for my ancestors from Jerez, Zacatecas, that were the original
settlers of the following ranches: Las Lajas, El Moral, and Lo de Luna,
located outside of Jerez. My grandfather, Alberto Duarte Vasquez, left
Jerez circa 1900 and moved his family to Mapimi, Durango. My grandmother,
Luz Cuevas Lurea, was originally from Zacatecas, Zacatecas. It appears
that many families left Jerez and moved onto Mapimi between the years 1850
and 1900, or before, because of famine and wars, and later on moved to
the United States. If anyone has any information on any the above families,
either from Jerez or Mapimi, please share it with me.
