Surname: Viramontes
-------------------------
I know that in Jalpa my family's land, some of which "we" still own is
on a mountain side, or on the plateu of a mountain. I never heard of servants,
I've only gone back to the late 1800's so far,I do know my grandfather
sent money home until he passed away a couple of years ago, so the last
few generations at least have not been wealthy. There are segments of our
family in Kansas, California, Texas and Chicago. Your names don't sound
familiar- but that doesn't really mean much as I've just begun my search
with very little to go on. Although my mother's name is Elyse. I will have
to find out if there is a connection to Elisio. But also knowing how prolific
families were and how often times they left and settled elsewhere, I am
sure there are many aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. that I have yet to discover
that may have segmented into other groups. Be wary of exact spelling of
names- I found my great uncles birth cert. and the name ended with 'z'
and he was considered 'colored' in Kansas in 1920's. Please post anything
you find, I will do the same.
