Have you tried to get naturalization or alien registration records or a
death certificate. All of these things may be helpful...you can check the
Zacatecas Newsletter for suggestion.

Knowing the city that your ancestor came from is crucial and sometimes
people get lucky and network with someone who is related, but most of the
time, it is like searching for a needle in a haystack.

I was trying to help out two friends and they had not a clue where their
family was from and for months, had nowhere to go. Then, someone turned
up a 1903 baptism record from La Ciudad de Zacatecas and it broke the whole
family wide open, and we have traced portions of their family clear back
to the 1600s and 1700s in Aguascalientes and other areas.

Unfortunately, the records for La Ciudad itself had seriously large gaps,
but the records for many other parts of southern Zacatecas were well-kept
and are available through the Mormon Library or published sources (like
Borderlands.com)
