Surname: DeHerrera or Herrera
-------------------------

Hello Pam, I am researching the DeHerrera name that may have migrated from
Zacatecas, Mexico into the United States in 1598 with the Onate Expedition
and toyed with the idea that perhaps you have some pertinent information?
Are you familiar with the Mexican President Joaquin DeHerrera in the 1700s?
He had a brother named Francisco DeHerrera. Are your Herrera's descendants
from either one? Please email me at if you have early information
that relates to Joaquin or Francisco or perhaps to my line:

My earliest ancestor I can prove was born Juan Antonio DeHerrera about
1745, (I don't know who his parents are) in Santa Cruz, New Mexico near
Espanola, New Mexico. He married Juana Atencio and they had several children;
among them was my ggg grandfather, Francisco DeHerrera. Thank you for your
indulgence. Sincerely, Rose
