Just started doing family research again after 5 years away. My grandmothers name was Margarita Herrera and came to Wyoming about 1911-1912 when she was around 5 years old.. Her fathers name was Jose Ysabel Herrera and may have stayed in Michoacan (Chilchota) as my grandmother was born out of wedlock.
As I recall, she told me her mother (Teofila Velasquez) her mother and an uncle (may a Herrera?) came to the U.S. to help on a ranch. Supposedly my grandmother and her mother lived with an aunt and uncle in Wyoming who either had a ranch or was some kind of ranch foreman, in a town close to the Montana border. Just wondering if there might be a connection.
Thanks - Irene
