I have decided to post this on this forum, as it appears others are looking for a link with the Madrigal, Oropeza, Duarte, Valdez

Oropeza is also a family name (also an old family name from El Valle)- as my father's in-laws' mother was Elpidia Duarte Oropeza (or Valdez) (her siblings were )Jesus Duarte, Ciprian Duarte, Pancho Duarte. We think Jesus Duarte is my father-in-law's cousin. Is Jesus Duarte the same one as the "camiones" of the Duartes? If it is the same, he used to take the people to Zamorra, La Piedad and other surrounding areas in the buses.

Yes, I have been to El Valle - I think it is really cool - it gives me a feeling of what life was like about 50-75 years ago - everything seems to remain stagnant. I am a teacher, so I am never in a position to take advantage of the annual fiestas that are held in January- hopefully, before I die, I will....The last time I was in El Valle was two years ago, when my father-in-law passed away - it was so sad - he spent his life in the states, achieved his dream to go back, and was only able to avail himself of that pleasure for less than two years. On the upside however, my mother-in-law still lives there, in the company of family.

By the way, in El Valle, according to my husband's maternal grandfather's name was Angel Madrigal Oropeza, (his parents were: Diobigilda Oropeza maternal and????). Florentina Rocha Valdez (married to Angel Madrigal Oropeza). Supposedly, there are two distinct Madrigal families - a Miguel Madrigal and my husband's side of the family. Frankly, I think they are the same, however Angel Madrigal, husband to Florentino Rocha insisted they were not the same families - nevertheless, you and I know that it takes only a few generations to forget who the distant cousins are.......

Javier remembers two families in Milwaukee - the Navarette's and Heredia's that came from El Valle. There is no doubt you are related, at a minimum in compadrismo..... By the way, my mother-in-law's sister's name is Esther Madrigal Navarette who was married to Juan Navarrete any relation?

Also, my in-laws are living in a house recently purchased by the "compadres" - el esposo was a Navarrette (recently passed) - the wife was Valdez (currently living in a condo) - might you be the off spring of the same family where the house in El Valle was recently (3 or so years ago) purchased from? We live in the Chicago area, and you have many cousins: Javier (my husband born in El Valle 1950), Esperanza (born in Milwaukee), Elena (born in Milwaukee), Cecilia (who was born and now lives in Milwaukee), Rosa (born in Milwaukee), Maria (born in Chicago), Raul (born in Chicago) and Leticia (born in Chicago) - all siblings and children of Raul Ortiz Duarte and Maria Madrigal Rocha.

Jesus (deceased - lived in Guadalajara but had a business in Sinaloa)
Norberto (lives in Mexico City)
Carlos (deceased - lived in Mexico City)
Graciela.(lives in California)
Elvira (lives in California)
Eloisa (lives in San Diego)
.........all the above are siblings of Raul Ortiz Duarte
..........................PARENTS OF RAUL ORTIZ DUARTE:
.......Pedro Ortiz ________(from San Antonio) and Elpidia Duarte (Oropeza or Valdez)

Esther (lives in El Valle)
Josefa (lives in Chicago)
Pedro (lives in California)
Elisa ( lives in El Valle)
________ (lives in Sonora)
all the above are children of
Angel Madrigal Oropeza married to Florentina Rocha Valdez
