Madrigal seems to be a common last name in Michoacan, and they seem to be regionalized in one area. My mother-in-law is a Madrigal and was born in a small town outside of Zamora, Michoacan called El Valle de Guadalupe. Her name is Maria Madrigal Rocha, and as far as we know both surnames are entrenched heavily in this small town. Her father's name was Angel Madrigal
