Forgot to point out that all the names I gave you were for sorrounding towns and or cities. With the exception of Guanajuato which is a neighboring state of Michoacan.

Have you tried researching for information on your ancestors via the Church of Latter Day Saints? They have very old records that can help you trace you family line.
