After you find where in Mexico your family originated, then your wll be
able to direct searches in that area of the country. It is a long and time
consuming process, but once you get started you may not want to stop. My
family came from France and Spain to the Mexico city area in 1780's and
then found their way to the state of Michoacan. Many generations there
and they eventually moved north to alta california about the time of the
revolution. Good luck.
