Is your a family from (Karnes County)Texas? I have been able to obtain
the following information from my Tio Enrique who is in about 78 years
old.

His Paternal Grandparents:
Celestino Lopez Martinez who was from Spain (Castillo Province(?)). married
Petronilla Escamilla (an Indian woman from Morelos, Mex.) lived in Kenedy
or Choate,(San Antonio area) Texas around 1900.

His Maternal Grandparents:
His maternal grandfather's name was Abran or Abraham Olivares also from
Spain; he married Apolonia Medellin (Indian woman from Texas)lived in Choate,
San Antonio area) Texas around 1900.

Both Grandfathers are reported to have died in Harlingen, Texas in 1933.

Celestino Lopez Martinez and Petronilla Escamilla had several children:
Most were born in Kenedy, Tx (Karnes County
Martinez Children:
Jose Martinez - my Grandfather
Daniel Martinez - Preacher who lived in Abernathy, Texas
and died of heart attack (no year given)
Pedro Martinez married Tia Schawa (Indian name) real name Rosa Aura (?)
lived in Kenedy, Imperial (West Texas) and
Kermit, Texas
Carlos Martinez who lived in Santa Rosa, Texas
Rafaela Martinez who married an Anglo and moved to Baytown,
Texas
Consuela Martinez who died at a young age in Kenedy, Texas
I would appreciate hearing from you even if we are not related.

Josefina or Josephina Olivares-my Grandmother born in Choate, Texas Mar.
