Sorry....I was visiting my daughter this week end, and got back Monday,
I am so pleased with the information. Charles obviously didn't seem to know his age, as he was born in 1884, and so seems to have thought of himself as older than he was.He states on his draft card that he was born on 11th August 1880 when I have found a record from Familysearch.org that it was 13th July 1884.The different name spellings, although quite different, does not suprise me so much , as my research here has been hampered by the various spellings(seven in all).
The information in the census does help to create a picture and the maps are bringing it all together, as my geography knowledge is not that good.
I feel I know have quite a good picture of Charles and am amazed that one week ago I knew very little.
