My grandmother Edna McVay had a brother named Zaddock I met him in the late '40's. The family called him Uncle Zed. The family came from Florance Co. Al. I will have to look this up but it was either his grandfather or g.grandfather who was a judge in Florance and a brother to Hugh McVay the gov. or Al. I believe they came in through NC. Their father faught in the rev. received land in Ky. and went there with younger sons. They came in from Va. by the St. James river (Ithink). The origenal family was in Va. There were two brothers. One took the spelling McVey and ours took McVay to be able to tell them apart. Somewhere I have the Rev. War records of their father. I have been out of the country and everything is packed. As I think about this I will remember more
