I should add that Hazel andRoger are somewhat famous in their own right. They are the grandparents of Brandi Chastain of Soccer Fame. winning the Gold several times for the US
at the Olympics. Brandi is now a mother. Hers on was born in July.
Roger and Hazel's son, the Father of Brandi died with an aortic aneurism 2 years ago. Brandi's mother Lark, died just 7 months earlir with a brain aneurism.

Hazel McGhee married Roger Hardwick Chastain July 5, 1941 in Reno NV. They both lived in Chowchilla CA at the time. Hazel had just graduated from the 8th grade and Roger had just graduated from Chowchilla High. The family didn't know one another as far as they know until moving to Chowchilla.
Rogers father is Sterling Chastain. The family came to California from Oklahoma. There wereonly boys in the Family, Norvell the oldest Roger the 2nd son, George #3 and Roy #4.
Sterling was a school teacher in Oklahoma. I understand he started teaching here, but stated dabbling in Real Estate. He died a wealthy man. Rogers middle name is a family name his mother was a Hardwick. I can't remember her given name. She was a tiny little woman while Mr Chastain was about 6'7". Roger doesn't know anything beyond OK. I saw marriages to Chastains in the east and mentioed it to him. His interest in genealogy is nil.
I can look for their names. I'm sure I have all of them, if not, I could talk to Roy, he and his wife live about 1/2 hour from us up in the Sirra Nevada foothills. A place called Coarsegold..
I asked Cliff again a few minutes ago about whether their was ever any mention that Sam might not be Dan's son. He said he never heard any mention of anything like that. But then, Cliff never did ask his dad many questions beyond questions about his mither, Lillie. Cliff's sister Freeda would have known. Freeda died in 1998.

Elijah Chastain married my Abrahams sister. They left for KY early before
1800 and then went to ILL where they lived many years and had many children.
Some of these then moved on to Colorado very early and before 1850. They
became wealthy and were in Politics. Somewhere here I have that whole line.
