I know that somewhere back there we are all related . My mother started researching as a hobby when she retired, back in 1970 something and I began to take her to the Library in St.Louis where be looked through what seemed like miles of Micro-fish. Now we have computers and it is much easyer . You start with your parents AND GO BACKWARDS.I started working on my fathers who is McGarvey. My cousin is 87 now and he new more about the family than anyone. Our McGarveys are from Scotland . I found out my fathers side lived in Grayville, IL. I took a trip to Grayville from St.Louis after I talked to my wonderful cousins who said come on up we would love to meet you. You know the Scots and Irish are friendy people we never meet a stranger. So my trip was great and I went to the Courthouse for that county . I found so much info on the back of mGreatgrandfathers marriage record which you can not find on the internet. They had the birth dates , Father and mothers name . So I went form!
there . There are great records in Latter Saints whick is wwwdfamilysearch.org also
www.glorecords.gov. which has land records under names and so on . Also Ellis Iland web site . This is jus a start. I wwill send more info as soon as I look up info since I am
not at home but visiting my family . I will do some searching and get back to you. Gwyn
