Hi Bryan,

Further to Peter's post, a little more info on the ship -

BECHEVILLE
O.N.148107, 4,228 gross ton cargo ship, built 1924 by Sir J. Priestman & Co,
Sunderland as the WESTLEA for Cliffside Shipping Co, Newcastle.
1927 NEWTON ELM, Tyneside Line (Ridley, Son & Tully), Newcastle.
1937 BECHEVILLE, Arion SS Co, London.
Apr.1944 requisitioned by Ministry of War Transport and managed by Christian
Salvesen & Co, Leith.
9th June 1944 scuttled as a blockship off Normandy to form part of
Gooseberry No.5 harbour.

Photo of the ship in the book "From 70 North to 70 South" by Graeme Somner,
ISBN 0-950919-90-X which should be available on inter library loan.
