Plenty you can find on the net about the vessel GOLIATH during 1850 when she was used in laying the telegraph cable between England and France, but noting on her details,

Who can help to fill the missing pieces, like owner, builder, tonnage and dimensions and her fate.
As given in the sources she was a Royal Navy tug, or a private tug chartered by the English Channel Submarine Telegraph Co., other give that she was a paddle steamer.
