The answer to my query I found in a map someone had e-mailed me.
Taconic Mountain was renamed Mount Everett. Mount Everett is part of
the Taconic Range. I grew up in the foothills of the Taconics on the
other side, and I graduated from Taconic Hills High School. It's
interesting to know that my Indian ancestors not only gave us the name,
but gave the land to my direct Indian ancestor.
