Hi Cuzzies,
I did it. I girded my loins and got myself over to Grantham library this
afternoon to check out my best bets for the baptisms of Richard's and
Edward's children. I focused on the period 1790-1810 and I can tell you
they were not baptised at:
1) Great Gonerby
2) Grantham St Wulfram (there were two other churches in Grantham at that
time but Little Gonerby people appear to have gone to St Wulfram)
3) Welbourn
I was starting on Caythorpe (just up the road from Carlton Scroop) but ran
out of time before I finished. I did spot this in the Banns Book:
William HALL of Fulbeck mason and Martha MABBOT of the parish, banns read
13, 20 and 27 Jan, presumably 1788, because they married at Caythorpe on 29
Jan 1788, witnesses Thomas Hall and W. Costall Parish Clerk, according to
the parish register.
I hope someone is glad of that little snippet to compensate my trip to
Grantham on a murky afternoon on wet roads for what Dave would call a
"vinegar trip"! The frustration continues.
Bye for now,
Lesley
