OBITUARIES (Cont'd)

Goldie J. Hall
Goldie J. Hall, 80, Watford, Lunenburg County, passed on to her eternal rest Sunday, January 21, 2001, in the Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany. Born at Watford, she was a daughter of the late Sanford A. and Jennie A. (Silver) Veinot.
Surviving are her sons, Ivan Veinot and Michael Hall, both of Watford; sisters, Ola Ernst, Upper Northfield and Vera Beck, Watford, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Hall, and infant brother Van.
Funeral services, under the direction of New Germany Funeral Home, New Germany, were held from New Germany Funeral Home, New Germany, on January 24, 2001, at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. William Gustafson officiating. Hymns sung were "Beyond the Sunset" and "Amazing Grace", accompanied by Lucille Silver, organist.
Pallbearers were Larry Holland, Gary Scott, Kirk Robar, Alan Robar, Carl Hall, and Rodney Hall.
Interment was in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery, New Germany.

Casket spray - Ivan and Michael; roses - Kyle and Cody; baskets - Ola, Jennie, Gary, Karen, Kyle and Cody; Calvin, Vera, Larry, Janice, Kevin, Matthew, Donnie, Linda, Belinda and James; Maude, Carl and Gerda; Sean and June; Rodney and Cindy; Tammy and Neil

Harold Charles Lowe
Harold Charles Lowe, 77, of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully at home on February 6, 2001. Born August 16, 1923, he was the son of the late Charles and Dell Lowe of East Dalhousie. He worked for Nova Scotia Power Commission and Nova Scotia Power Corporation for 34 years, until 1980, then worked in the office in Bridgewater for four years until he retired in 1984.
He is survived by his wife Marguerite and three daughters, Cheryl (husband Neil Oickle), Stanburne; Marsha (husband Tim Robar), Dalhousie; and Janet Lowe, Ottawa; grandchildren Bobby, Maggie, Casey and Jesse Oickle, Brandy and B.J. Robar and Kyle Boileau, Ottawa.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Burial at a later date. Memorial donations to Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater.

Johanne Marie Bruhm, 45, Bridgewater, passed away January 19, 2001 suddenly at home. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of John and Joyce (Rhyno) Levy, Little Tancook Island.
She is survived by her husband Donald; brothers Jeffrey, Little Tancook Island; John, Chester Basin; sister Jennifer Levy, Little Tancook Island; her in-laws Percy and Myrna Bruhm and family. She was predeceased by her grandparents William and Lillian Rhyno, and Daniel and Mary Levy.
Memorial service was held January 24, 2001 at Sweeny's Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater, Rev. William Gustafson officiated. Burial at a later date in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater.

Mary Lorraine Boudreau
Mary Lorraine Boudreau 70, of Lunenburg, passed away, Monday, February 12, 2001, at Harbour View Haven Home for special care, Lunenburg. Born in Petit De Grat, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Lillie (Boudreau) Boudreau. In her earlier years she worked at Le Brun's IGA in Arichat and after moving to Lunenburg, she worked for a short time at Oxner's IGA and for a number of years at the Dominion Store, Lunenburg. She was a member of St. Norbert's Roman Catholic Church, Lunenburg.
She is survived by her daughter, Marie and her husband Tom Hillier of Lunenburg; granddaughter, Monique (Michael) and great-grandson Morgen of Berwick; sisters Mrs. Edith Richard of Petit De Grat; Clementine (Mrs. Martin Picco). Lucille Boudreau and Germaine (Mrs. Raymond Skinner), all of Lunenburg; brother Francis of Montreal; Raymond (Dolores) of Lunenburg; Vincent (Rose) of Arichat; Renie (Joan) of Petit De Grat. She was predeceased by an infant brother, Vincent Alfred.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeney Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. #3, Lunenburg. Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2001 at St. Norbert's Roman Catholic Church, Lunenburg. Father Brian Murphy officiated. Members of the choir of St. Norbert's sang with soloist Sharon Jackson and organist Barbara Wicks. Pallbearers were George Boudreau, William Boudreau, Kenneth Skinner, Michael Skinner, Michael Nauss and Randall Romkey. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.

Casket Spray - the family, rose-in-hand - great-grandson Morgen; flower arrangements - nephew Bill, Lisa, Megan & Stefan; niece Sharon, Rob, Brandon & Beth; nephew Michael, Felicia & Kelsey.
Memorial donations were made to Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Children's Wish Foundation, Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, St. Norbert's Roman Catholic Church, Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia and several memorial masses.

Muriel S. Thayer
Muriel S. Thayer, 94, died February 18, 2001 at Keystone Nursing Home in Leominster, Mass. Born in Simpson's Corner, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, daughter of the late John S. Simpson and Lydia L. (Lohnes) Simpson.
She was predeceased by husbands Ralph Bolivar of Baker Settlement, and Richard Thayer of Worcester, Mass; brothers Oran, Leo, John and Carol. She is survived by son Wilfred Bolivar, Baker Settlement, N.S. and daughter Shirley Parker, Bear River, N.S.; two grandchildren, Muriel Melegos, Toronto, Ontario and Elizabeth Robicheau, Marshalltown, N.S.; also three great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held at Athey Funeral Home in Worcester, Mass, February 21, 2001. Interment at Mt. View Cemetery, Shrewsbury, Mass. Donations in memory may be made to charity of choice.

Myrtle Kathleen Silver
Myrtle K. Silver, 90, of Bridgewater, passed away January 21, 2001 at the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater after a brief illness. Born in Oakhill, May 17, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Whitford Ernst and Martha (Mosher) Ernst.
Myrtle is survived by her son Frank and daughter-in-law Joan, Upper Branch; and one nephew Bernard Fraser, Oakhill. She was predeceased by her husband Ray, November 2, 1982; sister Helen Joudrey, Oakhill; and brother William Ernst, Oakhill.
Myrtle worked many years at Hofman's Dress Shop on King Street. She was an active member of the P.C. Party. Bingo and card playing were enjoyable pastimes for her. She was a good neighbour and friend to many people in her younger years. Myrtle lived a long, healthy life but was very lonely after the death of her husband, Ray.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, January 24, 2001, 2 p.m. at Sweeny's Funeral Home, Rev. James Slack, Jr. officiating. Burial in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Myrtle's grand nephews - Gary Fraser, Darrell Fraser, Stephen Fraser, Robert Whynacht, Wayne Holman, and good friend Gerald Croft.

We, the family of the late Earline (Earl) Conrad would like to thank those who placed memoriams, sent cards and flowers, phone calls and visited during our recent bereavement. Special thanks to Drs. Kelly, Proctor, Atkinson, Hatheway, nurses, doctors and staff throughout Fishermen's and South Shore Regional Hospitals, from out-patients to ICU and the floors in between. To Dr. David Morse, thanks for speaking to the doctor on our behalf. Again, many thanks to Dorothy, who is always there when the going gets rough, Monica for being at our side throughout the time Earl spent in the hospital, and Suzanne who kept popping in with tea. To the ambulance workers (Gary Dares and his partner), who went above and beyond their call of duty, by not only caring for Earl, but for helping to shovel him out of the house, as well as Randy Whynacht who responded personally to the emergency call, shovelled along with Rev. Douglas Moore and the two angels who stopped their vehicle to help out (J!
im Hiltz and his helper). You all showed the kindness that can truly be found by living in a small town. Also, thanks to Mike and staff at Sweeny's Funeral Home for their assistance, Rev. Douglas Moore for the visits, songs, Bible readings and the wonderful service he gave, along with the singing of the male choir (of which Earl was very proud to say he was a member). Also, the fellowship group who provided refreshments after the service. Thanks to the pallbearers: Doug Meisner, Herbert Zinck (male choir), Michael Nelson (grandson), Trevor Church (great-grandson), Ronnie Lohnes and Scott Allen (grandsons-in-law). To anyone else who is not listed, but knows in their heart who helped out in any way, we thank you as well. Everyone's kindness will always be appreciated. May God Bless!
