Hello to you possible cousin,
I am Robert Lumsden in Virginia and my parents were from Tennessee. My Dad, George Napier Lumsden was born and raised in Humphrey's County, Tennessee and his father was William Samuel Lumsden. His father was Stephen P. Lumsden whose brother was George F. Lumsden. I know very little about George, except that he married Elizabeth Derryberry from Maury County who had a son, Jessee Jacob Lumsden who married Mallissa Hardison, whose family group sheet is attached. I really don't know much more about this family but could probably get you in touch with a cousin who might be able to help since she was related to the Derryberrys. Any information you have on George F. Lumsden would be appreciated if this is the same person as your George T. Lumsden. Please let me know if this helps.

"Hello possible Cousins!"

Does anyone out there recognize the family of :

1. Demosthenes P. C. FINCH was born about 1824 in , , NC.
1860 Weakley Co., TN census, Dist. 10, p 416. "Farmer".

Demosthenes reportedly married Melissa LUMSDEN, daughter of George T.
LUMSDEN and Elizabeth Catherine DERRYBERRY. Melissa was born about
1832 in , , TN, but she was born about 16 years prior to George and
Catherine marrying, so who was she?

They had the following children.

2 M i. Augusta H. FINCH was born about
1849 in , , TN.

3 M ii. Andrew J. FINCH was born about
1854 in , , TN.

4 F iii. Sarah H. FINCH was born in
1859 in , Weakley, TN.

Keeping my fingers crossed here to be sure!

TTYL
