there is also a Dickerson Lumpkin in GA but I've not figgured a connection to him. my dad's cousin - who lives in Westminster SC, and is very active in the local genie society down there has also hit roadblocks going back from our DM Lumpkin. My ggrandmother - Lucy Emma only had one brother = Thomas E Lumpkin (b 1881 and married a Lillie Jones. I have not looked him up to see if he had any sons.
Thomas Andrew Lumpkin, Lucy Emma's father had one brother - a David F LUmpkin - who had one son - John Wade Lumpkin (b 1887)- and 6 sisters!
Dickerson M Lumpkin had 2 sons and 3 daus. the sons were JOhn D and Robert A. (b1847)
it has been a difficult search so far.
