This indenture made this 16th day of December in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and ninety seven and in the twenty first year of
the Independency of the United States of America between John Love of the
State of South Carolina & Chester County of the one part & Robert Love
of the other part of the county aforesaid Witnesseth that the said John
Love for and in consideration of five pounds sterling money of South Carolina
to him in hand well & truly paid by the said Robert Love the receipt whereof
he doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed
& confirmed & by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien enfeoff &
confirm unto the said Robert Love his heirs & assigns forever a tract or
parcel of land lying on Turkey Creek on the South side thereof thence beginning
at a Cherry tree on the bank of Turkey creek, thence due South 47 to a
post oak on James Loves corner, thence N77 E27 to a stake thence N39 W17
to a post oak, thence N84 E13 to a stake, thence N9 W17 to a stake, thence
N82E8 post oak, thence N15 E15.25 to a hickory on the bank of turkey creek
thence down Turkey Creek South 86 W 12 to an Elm, thence S69 W18.25 to
a Beech, thence N7 W15.25 to a stake, thence S19 W4 to the beginning corner.
To have and to hold the said tract of land to him the said Robert Love
his heirs and assigns forever from him the said John Love his heirs & assigns
& from all manner of persons as a free and unencumbered estate of inheritance
in fee simple forever (The taxes to become payable by the said Robert Love
or his survivor exempted) and the said John Love for himself heirs executors
and administrators doth Covenant & Grant to the said Robert Love his Heirs
& assigns by these presents the he the said John Love & his heirs the said
tract or parcel of land unto the said Robert Love his heirs & assigns from
all persons whatever will warrant & by these presents forever defend. In
testimony whereof the said John Love hath hereunto set his hand & seal
the day & year above mentioned.
