This problem has been discussed on the Listowners list and it seems to only
affect some lists and it hasn't been determined which lists are not working
for digest subscription requests. Report the problem directly to Melissa and
name the list with the problem. Write to .

Until the problem is fixed you can manually sub someone in digest mode.
