Subject: [LIST-UPDATE] Unsubscribe problems and some suggestions
Date: Wed, 23 Aug 2006 09:25:38 -0400
Hello,
I had ADSL problems so I transferred over to another email address. I
had problems unsubscribing to the CAN-BRITISH-COLUMBIA. I got an
unsubscribe confirmation message but the mail kept on coming. I finally
got unsubscribed after trying several methods including sending to the
admin. So I can not pin down what worked but I ran into problems.
I am likely the 503th person to post the same problem on this list which
is only moderately hidden. It would be useful if an archive of this
list is available at least during the change over.
The webpage for the lists using the new software did not seem to be
updated with new subscribe and unsubscribe information. Maybe it has
not changed but there is no indication. After I found out the problem
may be due to changed mailing list software I had to think some more.
I remembered that subscribe and unsubscribe infomation is usually put in
the headers. I tried the webpage and was greeted with a no
authorization message. The mailto did not seem to work either.

> <mailto:?subject=unsubscribe>
So I ended up sending a message to the admin address and went to bed.
This morning I was unsubscribed.
So I suggest the upgrade process is more visible on the website and to
remember that the job is not finished until the documentation is done.
