Joan replied when I posted that I had received several List messages with
attachments today (something that has NEVER occurred in the past 6 or 7
years I've been a subscriber to Rootsweb Lists and shouldnt, since Rootsweb
doesnt allow attachments):

Not all are coming through this way. Just a few. I've deleted & emptied
most of today's messages, but two with the attachments were still in my
deleted mail. In both cases, the text was the footer information.
I can't imagine why this would suddenly happen. I'm curious if it's
happened to anyone else. My ISP is Earthlink and I use Outlook. . . so
pretty mainstream.
On another matter, Im curious why messages posted to the LIST-UPDATE List
come through with the From as a "bounce" and "on behalf of":

Is this how the sender will always be reflected in Mailman?
