Spotted this in a book of Old Clocks & Clockmakers:
"Leeming Edwd., livery C.C. 1787.
Edward, watch-case maker, 8 Little Britain, 1790-94."
Where:
C.C. = Clockmakers' Company
The date after C.C. signifies the period when connected with the
Clockmakers' Company. Other date was when known to be in business or when
some exaple of his work was made. (It does not necessarily follow that he
either began/relinquished his trade then).
Little Britain is in London (up beyond St Pauls Cathedral in EC1).
