Hi Leah and List members:
Leamon, Lemon, Leman, Leymon, Lyman, Lymon, Lehman, Lehmann, Laymon,
Layman, Lemmon, Leemann, Leeman, Leimon.
These are a few of the spellings of the name I have run across in my
research.
Also that it is a Viking name out of Norway(Norwegian)
Also that it is a Scottish name org. from Scotland
Now I have not been long on my Leamon ancestor and I certainly am no expert.
Perhaps we have some folks with more Knowledge of this fine name among us,
if so I encourage anyone to post that may have information on our Family
name.
My oldest ancestor (Leamon) is: Jocob Leamon and wife Jenny
They were the parents of my: Nancy E. Leamon b. 1790 in Henry CO., KY
Nancy married Jesse Admire in November 1811 in Henry Co., KY.
The Admires moved into Putnam CO. MO.
So I have been stuck on my Jacob Leamon and not gotten beyond.
