I'm tring to trace my grandchidren's fathers line.
Believe they go back to Elijah Lattimore Ames Twps. Athens Co. 1840 census. My way back to there is, grandfather:
Herbert Leroy Lattimer b. 1 Apr 1931 to Charles Cecil & Velma V. Switzer.(Obit)
Charles Cecil b.9 Aug 1887 in Nelsonville, Oh.s/o David & Cathyron Lattimer (Obit)
Charles is found in Perry Co. in 1920 & Fairfield Co. in 1930.
1910 Hocking Co. Davis is alone a widower at age 60.
1900 Athens Co. Nelsonville, David b. Oct 1848 Oh. & wife Mary C. have 4 children left at home with them.
1880 Hocking Co. Star Twp, I find a Perry & Hannah, 3 children & a grandson; next to the is David, Mary C. & 4 children.
1870 Hocking Co. Star Twp. Haydenville, David is 19, still hpme with his parents.
1860 Hocking Co. Star Twp. P.O. Logan, David is 11, one of Perry & Hannah's 7 children.
1850 Union Co. Jermone Twp. Perry 26,& Hannah have 5 children, David is the youngest at age 11mos.
This twp. also has a Elijah 56 & Polly 55, with dau Elizabeth 16, living in it.
!860 Union Twp. Jermone Twp. New California Elijah 66 & wife Mary 66.
1840 Athens Co. Ames Twp. I find Perry 20 to 30, with his wife & 2 daus, ALSO Elijah 40 to 50, 3 sons, 3 daus & his wife.
in 2003 I received a e-mail from ; telling me the following is found in the "Hocking Co. History"
Perry D Latimer b. 16 Dec 1813 Amestown, Athen Co. to Elijah Latimer, who had settled there when the Indians were numerous.
Perry attended a subscription school in Nelsonville & m. 6 Dec 1832 to Hannah Harris. They had 10 children: Mary L. Catherine, Huldah, Clorinda, Jane, Isabelle, Hiram L, Samuel I, & David P.
Mr Latimer came to Star Twp. in 1858. He owns 94 acres of land, resides on section 24 and is engaged in farming and stock-raising. He is a member of the Christian Church.
Is there anyone out there can tell me any more about this family Line?
